Aims of the Department
To create an environment that
encourages curiosity, interest and a love of learning in music
To provide equality of opportunity for
all pupils to develop their particular talent, irrespective of gender, race,
religious belief, social class, culture or any special need.
To employ that all pupils have equal
access to music and to experience success and enjoyment in their music.
To enable pupils to see music as a
source of pleasure and an important part of their leisure activities.

appreciation and enjoyment of music through an active involvement in
performance, composition, listening and appraising.

Key Stage 4
Pupils who opt for
music at this level complete either CCEA GCSE or a BTEC in Performing Arts
Key Stage 5
Pupils complete CCEA
