Aims of Department
The primary aims are to make students aware of the relevance of religious viewpoints in developing a deeper awareness of moral issues, to consider the values and beliefs of one or more religions and to identify, investigate and respond to fundamental questions about the meaning and purpose of life.
Religious Education is a compulsory subject at KS3 and KS4
KS3 students follow the Fully Alive Programme
KS4 students will be required to complete a two-year course of study.
Students will study either GCSE Full-Course RE offered through CCEA or Open College Network (OCN) Level 2 Certificate in Religious Studies.
A-Level RE is a two year course of study, offered through CCEA, comprising AS in the first year and A2 in the second year. Although as with other subjects, it may be taken solely as an AS subject.
